About Free Spirit Yoga

Before yoga, my life was very different. I spent years climbing the corporate ladder, always chasing the next promotion, milestone, or big thing. On paper, I was successful. But beneath the surface, I was anxious, disconnected, and numbing my emotions with partying and alcohol. I felt stuck, unfulfilled, and constantly wired, always buzzing but never truly present.

 

Then, in 2015, I found yoga. Or rather, yoga found me.

 

At first, it was just about movement. But something deeper shifted. I reconnected with my body, slowed down, and learnt to be present. My breath softened, my mind quietened, and I felt lighter, happier, and at peace. I let go of unhealthy coping mechanisms and embraced self-care, self-love, and meaningful connections. Yoga gave me clarity, confidence, and the courage to face challenges instead of avoiding them. For the first time in a long time, I felt whole.

 

In July 2022, I left corporate life behind and travelled to Costa Rica for my yoga teacher training, deep in the jungle and surrounded by waterfalls. Immersed in nature and my practice, I knew I had found my path. Yoga had changed my life, and now I was ready to help others, especially those struggling with anxiety, find the same peace, balance, and self-awareness.

 

Today, as a certified Hatha Vinyasa yoga teacher, I guide busy professionals in slowing down and reconnecting with themselves. I’m also trauma-informed, yin-qualified, and pregnancy yoga certified, having trained in world-class schools like Vikasa in Thailand, with leading teachers. Whether through movement, breathwork, or meditation, my goal is to create space for stillness, healing, and alignment.

 

Before I took the leap into teaching, I worked in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and community building in the corporate world. I bring that inclusive approach to my classes, welcoming all ages, shapes, orientations, and genders. After experiencing post-COVID isolation, I understand how lonely life can feel. I want my classes to be a place where people can connect, feel supported, and find belonging.
